Located just 20 minutes from the George Washington Bridge, Garret Mountain Equestrian Center is a full service riding facility offering great care and superior instruction. The equestrian facility is located on 26 acres that is nestled in the Garret Mountain Reservation. The reservation is a beautifully maintained park that is on 568 acres of land. Situated more than 500 feet above sea level it provides magnificent views of northern New Jersey and the New York City skyline.

Training is offered in English and Western for students interested in the disciplines of hunter, jumper, equitation, dressage as well as pleasure riding. Our school horses are outstanding and we are able to suit the beginner rider to the advanced that participates in competitions. Group and private lessons are available 7 days a week, the stable is open 9am to 9pm. With an outdoor and indoor arena, riding is available all year round. We also offer trail riding through the park daily as well as pony rides and birthday parties.

Throughout the year we travel regularly to rated and non-rated horse shows, hunter paces and team penning. Our facility will be hosting some events throughout the year which will be posted on our events page.

Garret Mountain Equestrian Center is excited to be the official equestrian facility where Columbia University’s Equestrian Team practices. We are also proud to house the mounted patrol of the Passaic Sheriff's Department in our facilities.
