Penny Kinnally
PeggyPenny Kinnally grew up around horses at home in Ohio. Penny started riding at the age of eight with the legendary horseman Howard Lewis of the Chagrin Valley Hunt Club.
Her professional career began in California working first for well-known jumper rider Ken Nordstrom in Santa Ana. She then moved to Far West Farms in Calabassas, California to join the Karazissis brothers in teaching and training hunt seat equitation. During her years there Penny took part in clinics given by professionals including Paul Valliere, Brian Flynn and George Morris.
Penny then took her knowledge of the equine to the East Coast to teach under trainer and equestrian author Peg Cannell. This change of location opened doors such as those at the Ox Ridge Hunt Club in Darien, Connecticut, where Penny spent a year managing the barn.
Her love of educating both horse and rider returned Penny to New Jersey to Overpeck Stables in Leonia taking horses and riders to horse shows such as Garden State, Monmouth County, North Hampton, Eastern States, North Fork and the Hampton Classic as well as spending numerous winters in Wellington, Florida. She has shown horses in everything ranging from pre-green hunters to preliminary jumpers.
After 4 years on the road with a private client, Penny has come back to her first love - teaching. And to show that she hasn't 'learned it all', she is glad she can turn to well-known professionals like Nona Garson when needed.
Penny is also the coach of the Columbia University Equestrian Team which is practicing in Garret Mountain Equestrian Center.

Jackie loves horses and enjoys teaching all level students from beginners through advanced. When she isn’t teaching, Jackie is training her horse Phantom.
